National Security Leaders for America Commemorates the Army’s 250th Birthday
Organizers must ensure that the celebration and military parade remain apolitical.
May 24, 2025
Washington, DC, National Security Leaders for America (NSL4A) recognizes and celebrates the monumental significance of the United States Army's 250th anniversary on June 14, 2025. This milestone marks the extraordinary service, sacrifice, and dedication of generations of soldiers who have courageously defended our freedoms. This occasion also fittingly inaugurates a year-long commemoration leading to the historic 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, honoring the nation's enduring values and the principles upon which it was founded.
However, this significant military observance of a national treasure, the United States Army, should not be lessened by aligning it with the personal birthday or other individual recognition of any person or government official.
To maintain its integrity and historical importance, celebrating the Army’s storied heritage and national independence must remain separate from individual political figures or personal milestones. Associating a revered national and military commemoration with any person's celebration risks diminishing the event's nonpartisan and unifying purpose.
The United States Army, with its rich heritage and profound national significance, deserves undivided recognition and respect, free from political implications or personalized celebrations. Our members, including many veterans, respectfully urge organizers to ensure this event's dignity and apolitical character remain intact, honoring the Army's profound legacy while maintaining our nation's foundational values.
