NSL4A sent a letter to election officials in every state and U.S. territory urging them to safeguard ballot access for military personnel, diplomats, intelligence professionals, and other Americans overseas covered under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA).

We emphasize that Americans serving abroad rely on timely ballot access and reliable absentee voting systems and urges election officials to ensure clear procedures and accessible options so these voters can fully participate in the 2026 midterm elections.

NSL4A is alarmed over the State Department’s plan to eliminate roughly 2,000 positions, including 700 career Foreign Service Officers, and to shutter or consolidate 132 bureaus and offices.

NSL4A is alarmed by reports that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard fired the top two officials at the National Intelligence Council for resisting politicized intelligence on Venezuela, and calls on Congress to reassert its oversight authority.
