NSL4A warns that reported intervention in a vetted Army promotion list reflects political interference, undermines merit-based military advancement, threatens trust and morale within the ranks, and calls for transparency and accountability to protect the integrity of the promotion system.

NSL4A expresses unwavering support for U.S. service members executing Operation Epic Fury and offers deepest condolences to those who sacrificed their lives in Iranian attacks in Kuwait and to their families. At the same time, NSL4A raises serious concerns about the political and legal justification for initiating the operation and its strategic, constitutional, and diplomatic consequences, urging Congress to assert its role in America’s warmaking decisions and demand clear answers from the Administration.

NSL4A is deeply concerned by the sudden firing of Lieutenant General Jeffrey Kruse, DIA Director, part of a troubling pattern of political interference in U.S. intelligence. These actions, including recent removals at the NSA and National Intelligence Council, reflect efforts to bend intelligence to fit political preferences.

NSL4A is alarmed by reports that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard fired the top two officials at the National Intelligence Council for resisting politicized intelligence on Venezuela, and calls on Congress to reassert its oversight authority.
