National Security Leaders for America Statement of Support for Women and Minorities in National Security

February 13, 2026

Washington, DC, National Security Leaders for America (NSL4A)  recognizes that America's national security strength depends on fully leveraging our nation's talent. Women and minorities have made vital contributions to our military and intelligence community, earning their positions through the same rigorous standards of performance and professionalism required of all service members.

Inclusion and merit are not opposing values. Women and minority leaders have earned their advancement through demonstrated capability, and evidence consistently shows that diverse leadership strengthens decision-making and institutional resilience. Policies that marginalize or exclude these qualified professionals weaken our strategic effectiveness and undermine the credibility of our national security enterprise.

NSL4A supports leadership practices grounded in performance, professionalism, and constitutional values—rejecting any approach that would narrow our talent pool through exclusionary ideology. Strengthen public confidence in our national security institutions by ensuring civilian and military leaders reflect the breadth of talent, experience, and perspectives across the nation they serve. A capable, trusted, and mission-ready military requires that we draw upon the full strength of the American people.
