National Security Leaders for America Condemns Political Violence in the Wake of the Charlie Kirk Murder
September 10, 2025
Washington, DC, National Security Leaders for America (NSL4A), (NSL4A) condemns in the strongest possible terms the murder of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Violence against political leaders and our fellow citizens is unacceptable, un-American, and a direct threat to our democracy.
Americans do not settle our political disagreements with violence. We argue, we organize, and we vote. No one has the right to use violence to achieve political ends. We are all Americans, and even when we disagree, we must stand together.
The attack on Mr. Kirk is not an isolated incident. From the assault on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, to the attempts on the life of then-candidate Donald Trump, to the violent attack on Paul Pelosi, and the tragic killings of Minnesota state political leaders earlier this year, we are witnessing a troubling pattern that undermines public safety and democratic stability.
Political violence—whether aimed at the left, the right, or anyone in between—has no place in America. We urge leaders at every level to reject extremist rhetoric and conspiracy theories that fuel threats and attacks, and to stand united in defense of our democratic values.
