National Security Leaders for America Highlights Businesses’ Rights Concerning Federal Deployments
14 October Webinar “Business Briefing for Federal Deployments: Know Your Rights and Options”
October 11, 2025
Washington, DC, October 11, 2025. National Security Leaders for America (NSL4A) invites our national security partners and media to join the West Philadelphia Corridor Collective’s October 14 Zoom briefing to help business leaders prepare for potential National Guard deployment and increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in their communities. The briefing will feature two NSL4A speakers: the Honorable Patrick J. Murphy, former Under Secretary of the Army, Member of Congress from Pennsylvania, and captain in the U.S. Army Reserve; and retired Brigadier General Dave McGinnis, former Assistant Secretary of Defense. They will be joined by Jonathan Grode, U.S. Practice Director and Managing Partner of Green & Spiegel, LLP.
The West Philadelphia Corridor Collective notes that “this briefing is intended to provide non-partisan facts, provide clarity, and answer your questions on the actual and potential deployment of the National Guard and ICE. This session will be led by former military leaders with deep expertise in civil-military affairs and an immigration attorney from one of the largest national immigration firms.” Though hosted by WPCC, the meeting will provide insights relevant to all American communities.
"The deployment of National Guard troops to cities where local and state officials do not require additional assistance undermines public trust in our military. This trust is further destroyed as the public increasingly associates the honorable actions of their sons, daughters, and neighbors in the Guard with the un-American tactics ICE is employing against US citizens. Businesses are vital to a healthy civil society and it’s essential that business leaders understand the differences between National Guard missions and the extreme actions of ICE, and that they know their rights and options amid federal deployments,” said NSL4A President and Founder retired Rear Admiral Mike Smith. “This briefing is an important opportunity for business leaders to learn how to support individual Guard men and women, and to learn about their rights and options for legal recourse against other extreme federal actions. I encourage maximum attendance.”
Register online here to attend via Zoom.. The meeting will begin at 12:00 PM Eastern Time on October 14.
