President Biden’s praise for those who served and died is in stark contrast to former President Trump’s low regard for those who now find repose in fields of honor. As President Biden reminded us, the purpose of Memorial Day is to remember and pay tribute to those who gave their lives to preserve our democracy. Their sacrifice should not be diminished or their memory maligned.
