Israel could draw on lessons learned from the United States' experiences following 9/11, according to a Middle East expert.

That includes a word of caution against “letting an understandable desire for retribution crowd out better judgment,” said Gordon Gray, a former U.S. ambassador to Tunisia who is now teaching at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University.
